Cleaning Tips For Busy Moms

Moms these days are ‘jacks of all trades’, and are often expected to work, maintain a household and keep a clean home, all at the same time! While many moms revel in their responsibilities, others want to fulfil their multiple roles, but simply can’t find the time to fit them all in, and this can be frustrating and stressful. One simple way of staying on top of everything as a busy mom, is to follow these quick and easy cleaning tips:

List your chores and firstly mark them in order of importance, before choosing which chores can be postponed, which can be delegated, and which chores you may need to hire professional help for. Having a simple letters or numbers code that you’re not likely to forget, will help you to quickly look at the list and know what needs to be done, when and by whom.

Now that you have a list, you’re able to check things off and encourage other members of your   household to do the same.

Getting your kids to help you keep your home clean may seem like creating more work for yourself, but if given simple tasks and plenty of rewards for completing chores on time, they can make a big difference in the life of a busy mom. Be sure that your kids understand where things go so that they can successfully put things away and show them how you want certain things to be kept clean.

Don’t let your spouse or partner leave everything to you, even if they tell you that you’re so better at it, and that’s why they don’t help! Communicating to your better half that as a busy mom, you’re struggling to keep a clean house and perform all your other duties, may be all that it takes to get them involved. Stubbornly trying to keep the home clean yourself, is simply making a rod for your own back, and that doesn’t benefit anyone.

A 15-minute express cleaning session every evening, can make a huge difference, and the entire household can get involved. Smaller chores when performed regularly, can significantly reduce the need for larger cleaning chores, and you’ll find that your home feels cleaner for longer.

While having a good quality cleaning kit won’t magically get your home clean, it will enable you to clean it much more effectively and much more quickly, too. Perhaps you need to replace your vacuum cleaner, buy a new mop or invest in a steam mop?

Consider whether employing a professional cleaner might reduce your stress levels and leave you more time for the things you enjoy.

Being a mom should be a pleasure, not a chore, and while cleaning chores are difficult to avoid, they need not take over your life and cause you stress provided you plan a little and get others involved.
