No Time To Clean? No Problem!

Cleaning may be a cinch if you live alone and are a naturally tidy and hygienic person, however for those of you who live in multiple occupancy households and don’t have the time or energy to keep it clean and tidy, it can feel like an uphill struggle. Many people also work full time while trying to maintain a clean home and taking on the cleaning chores can make it feel as if you have no time to rest or relax. However, there are some things that you can do to make keeping a clean home a little easier and less stressful, even when time is of the essence:

Try to prioritize cleaning tasks

There are some cleaning tasks that need to be tackled more urgently than others, such as dirty dishes, unwashed laundry or spilled food items on counters. If you only have half an hour spare, then at least wash the dishes so that your kitchen looks less chaotic and doesn’t begin to smell bad, pop a load of laundry on to reduce the pile in the basket, and give your kitchen counters a good wipe down with a disinfectant cleaning solution. These are the tasks that will instantly make your home look and smell cleaner; other tasks such as vacuum cleaning and dusting can be done when you have more time.

10 minutes a day will make a huge difference

Most of us, no matter how busy our lives are, can find at least 10 minutes a day to complete some basic cleaning and tidying chores such as hanging clothes up, putting shoes away or loading the dishwasher.

Keep a supply of cleaning items in every room

If your cleaning items are close at hand, the more likely you are to pick them up and use them when you need to. It really is as simple as that!

Go through the mail every day

This simple task takes no more than a couple of minutes but can prevent mail from building up and looking untidy; this is not the kind of sight that you want to be met with when you get home at the end of a long, hard day.

Hand over the cleaning duties to the pro’s!

You can hire a cleaning company to come in and blitz your home once a month, or even have them come in and clean as and when you need them. There are many schedules and budget friendly options available, and the relief that you’ll feel when you can home after a busy day at work to a clean and fresh smelling home is second to none.

The most important thing to remember when you don’t have a lot of time, but your home is dirty, is to tackle it in stages and go easy on yourself…you don’t have to have a perfect home all the time, and get other occupants that you share your home with involved so that you don’t have to shoulder the burden alone.
