5 Ways to Clean Your Home Effortlessly and Keep It That Way

Floor cleaning

When we think of cleaning, it’s not often that the word effortless comes to mind, but with a little forward thinking, there are some simple ways to keep your home clean with minimum effort, and keep it that way:

  1. Clean-as-you-go along

While it can be tempting to leave the dishes in the sink until tomorrow, or throw your clothes on the floor before taking a shower, nobody likes waking up to last nights smelly dishes and clothes strewn all over the place, so try to not put off the smaller tasks, to prevent them from turning into bigger tasks the next day.

  1. Tidy up your cushions and throw blankets

It’s surprising how untidy an unmade bed, throw blankets and scatter cushions can make a home look, and completing these tasks takes but a few minutes out of your day. Make your bed as soon as you get out of it in the morning, place your cushions tidily, and fold your throw blankets neatly until you need them next.

  1. De-clutter, or contain it

Getting rid of any unnecessary clutter is the quickest way of not only making your home look tidier, but of making it easier to clean with less items to dust. If you must keep a certain amount of clutter, try to store it in attractive containers so that it doesn’t become a dust magnet and make your home look a mess.

  1. Select time saving tools and tasks for your daily cleaning routine

Some products can be sprayed onto showers after each use, to help minimize a build up of scum and water residue, making your weekly shower cleaning task easier. You can also wipe down your sinks every couple of days to prevent a big bathroom cleaning job at the weekend when you should be relaxing. Choose time saving cleaning products and carry out a few smaller tasks each day to lighten your cleaning load.

  1. Dedicate just 15 minutes of time to an evening clean-up

While you might not feel like tidying up and wiping down kitchen surfaces before you go to bed, you’ll be grateful that you did when the next day comes around. Try to spend at least 10-15 minutes at the end of each day having a quick tidy up and dealing with any urgent cleaning jobs that will be tougher if left to the following day.

Whatever quick and simple cleaning tasks you choose to carry out each day, try to continue with them no matter what, and you’ll find that your home soon looks and feels tidier, cleaner and more inviting. Wherever possible, get other family members or house-mates involved, too, and before you know it, your home will always be clean and tidy. However, for a truly spotless and effortlessly clean home every single day, simply hire a professional cleaning company!
