Don’t Let Dust Rule Your Home

Dust cleaning

Dust can be a nuisance; unsightly and even bad for health, but so difficult to eliminate. Here are a few ways, however, that you might be able to prevent dust from ruling your home:

Have a daily cleaning routine and stick to it:

Preventing dust from occurring in the first instance, is the best way to ensure that your home stays dust-free. Regular cleaning – even if only you spend a few minutes a day dusting – will soon see dust becoming a problem of the past, but try to be as strict with your schedule as possible; the minute you skip a day or two, you’ll be sure to see those dust bunnies re-emerging.

Try to clean your home in an orderly manner:

Always begin dusting at the top of the room and work your way down. If you vacuum the floor and then dust the light fittings, you’ll just find that you need to vacuum the floor again: a waste of your time and energy and the quickest way to become disheartened over dust.

Don’t forget to dust and wipe down surfaces:

If vacuuming a surface isn’t practical, then the next thing would be to use a microfibre cloth, that picks up the dust and holds it instead of helping you to move it all around the room. At least weekly, clean your blinds, baseboards, corners of rooms and any other small spaces that tend to get overlooked during the average cleaning routine.

Sleep clean by regularly washing sheets and pillowcases:

While you may not think that you have the time or inclination to wash your bedding once a week, you’ll find it can make a huge difference to the dust levels in your bedroom. When you sleep, your sheets and pillowcases become covered in tiny skin and hair particles, not to mention bodily fluids, and so regular cleaning is the only way to keep them and you, fresh and clean.

Become best friends with your vacuum cleaner:

When it comes to keeping a clean home and eliminating dust, your vacuum cleaner truly is your best friend. Sweeping and brushing simply moves dirt and dust around, while vacuuming sucks it up and ensures that it’s never seen again! Vacuum regularly for a dust-free home.

Minimise clutter, minimise dust:

The less clutter you have, the less dusting you’ll have to do, it really is that simple!

Purchase air filters:

HEPA filters trap tiny particles, such as pollen, dust mites and pet dander, so that you’re less likely to breathe them in. If dust is affecting your home and your health in a big way, then this could be a wise purchase.

However, if you’re sick and tired of dusting and want to let someone else do your dirty work, why not use a professional cleaning service? With a variety of schedules and payment plans to suit every need and budget; a cleaning company could soon have you living in a dust-free environment, now wouldn’t that be great?
