Who wants to spend hours and hours cleaning their home? Most of us have better things to be doing with our free time, than scrubbing, dusting and vacuuming, and while a certain amount of this is necessary in order for your home not to resemble a garbage tip or look like a bomb has gone off in the middle of it, there are a few tips you can follow to get things done the express way:
Tip.1: Wherever you choose to start cleaning in your home, always try to start at the top and work your way down. If you’re dusting ceiling fans, for example, what’s the good in doing that last, only to have to spend more time re-cleaning the rest of the room?
Tip.2: Express cleaning your kitchen involves firstly getting any dirty plates and dishes washed (either by hand or in your dishwasher) and if your stove needs cleaning, take off any removable pieces and soak them in hot, soapy water.
Remove everything from the counters to enable you to wipe them all down with hot, soapy water, and do the same with any other surfaces and kitchen appliances.
Finish cleaning the pieces that you removed from the stove, and then move on to sweeping and mopping the floors.
You should be able to get this done in under 20 minutes if you remain focused, and your kitchen will look and feel much cleaner.
Tip.3: Express cleaning your living/dining/lounge rooms should be easy if you remove all of the clutter first; having containers, cupboards and shelves for clutter will help you immensely.
Dust the entire room from top to bottom, and preferably with a microfiber cloth so that the dust sticks to it, rather than being spread all about the room.
Vacuum the furniture (wherever possible/necessary), and then the flooring.
This can easily be achieved in around 10 minutes.
Tip.4: Express cleaning your bathroom(s) is best done with all of the toiletries and other bathroom paraphernalia cleared away to allow you access to the surfaces. Spray all of the surfaces with an anti-bacterial cleaning solution and don’t wipe it off until you’ve cleaned the toilet(s), inside and out.
Now you can wipe down all of the surfaces that you sprayed and give the bath tub a quick wipe down with the same solution and hot water. Don’t forget to wipe clean any mirrors and then you can mop the floor.
This should not take longer than 15 minutes, depending on how grubby your toilet and tubs are!
Tip.5: Express cleaning bedrooms can take a little more time depending on how many bedrooms your home contains, but if you remain focused and do things in a methodical way, you should be able to get them done quickly enough.
Remove linen from each bed and remake it with clean sheets. Get rid of any clutter, preferably by placing it in storage. Work from top to bottom, dusting and polishing before vacuuming, or mopping the floors.
You should be able to achieve this by dedicating less than 10 minutes to each room.
Tip.6: Express cleaning all floors in the home should be straightforward provided you begin vacuuming at the far side of each room and make your way backwards towards the door, and follow the same principle for mopping or steam cleaning.
