Get Your Home Clean Quickly and Efficiently

Floor cleaning

Cleaning your home can be an unforgiving task, and one that you probably don’t relish, however, there are a few simple steps you can follow to get the job done quickly and efficiently:

Compose a schedule and be sure to stick to it:

Be strict when doing this, and once you’ve decided what you can realistically achieve given the time that you have, try your best to stick to your schedule and not get distracted.

Kit yourself out in the right gear:

By wearing comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting grubby, you’ll put yourself in the right frame of mind for cleaning, and won’t shy away from certain tasks for fear of getting dirty.

Buy the right cleaning tools:

Get a set of good cleaning tools (doesn’t have to be anything fancy) and position them where you’ll be able to easily find them (having more than one set in different areas of your home is a helpful idea); then there’s no excuse!

Don’t overcomplicate things:

You don’t always need to have a wide array of cleaning tools or solutions to get every cleaning task done; many are multi-purpose and can be used effectively for a variety of cleaning jobs around the home. You can make your own solutions to save money, and help be more environmentally friendly too, by using natural items such as lemons and vinegar.

Think about your cleaning ‘route’:

Don’t waste your energy by moving all around the room or doubling up on yourself, try to clean methodically and you’ll find you get the jobs done much quicker, and more effectively, too.

Declutter before you begin cleaning:

Having a clear picture of what surfaces you need to clean is made much easier if you declutter first. If your home has a lot of clutter, then you might want to think carefully about what you want to keep and what you might be able to sell, donate or recycle.

Hire a professional cleaner:

This is, hands down, the most effective solution for a clean home that stays that way, and is often more budget friendly than you may realise. Cleaners do their work efficiently and using tools and solutions that they know will work, so they don’t need to spend hours and hours cleaning for you, and in fact, a visit twice a week or even once a fortnight might be enough for you.

Double up:

Two hands make lighter work of everything, so wherever possible, be sure to use both of yours when cleaning, for example, spray your glass with one hand and wipe it down with the other.

To get your home clean quickly and efficiently, consider hiring a professional cleaning service who will enable you to complete the small cleaning tasks when you have time, while they tackle the bigger jobs that need to be done less frequently.
