How To Get Your Bathroom Clean in Less Time

Cleaning bathroom

Getting your bathroom clean doesn’t have to mean spending hours scrubbing and bleaching, and with these handy tips, you can get the job done in a lot less time:

Clear the decks of clutter

Not only will clearing the clutter help you to clean it quicker in the first instance, but it will help you keep it cleaner for longer in the long term. Wherever possible, store all toiletries and other associated items in a cabinet or place them on a shelf to minimize a buildup of dust.

Wipe down all surfaces

Once you’ve decluttered, begin by wiping down all surfaces using an antibacterial solution, and to make this task super quick, try to do it at least every other day. Note that some surface cleaners need to be left on a surface for a few minutes in order to give the best protection. Give any mirrors a quick wipe down, too.

Clean the sink

Simply squirt your favourite cleaning solution all over the sink and faucets, and let it sit for a few minutes before wiping it off. Again, the more often you can do this, the easier and quicker the task becomes.

Clean the toilet

Spray a bleach-based solution all over your toilet, and leave it to work for a few minutes before wiping it down. Then, pour bleach into the toilet bowl and if necessary, give it a scrub with a toilet brush.

Replace any items previously removed

Put back any items that were removed for the surface cleaning, if possible, store them in a cabinet or on a shelf to make cleaning easier.

Replace towels at least once a week

If your bathroom is very damp and towels don’t dry quickly, you may need to change them more often than weekly. If they’re beginning to smell, change them anyway, as this will only make your bathroom smell too, and bacteria could begin to breed on them.

Empty the trash can

A bathroom trash can may not get filled as quickly as others in your home, but don’t let bathroom waste and other debris sit in there for too long without emptying it and changing the bag, otherwise it will begin to smell and all your efforts to keep the bathroom looking and smelling fresh and clean, will have been wasted.

Clean the bathroom floors

Depending on how big your bathroom is, it shouldn’t take long at all to clean the floor, but don’t be tempted to skip this task, as you’d be surprised just how grubby it gets. A mop is the quickest and most effective way to clean the floor, and this task should always be done last.

Alternatively, have a cleaner do it for you!

Having a professional cleaner come in and spruce up your bathroom every few days will make your entire home feel cleaner, and is one less chore for you to think about after a long day at the office, or a gruelling day caring for small children.
