Some days even just the thought of cleaning can make us want to take to our beds, but let’s face it, cleaning is a part of life and a necessity for most, so what can you do to motivate yourself when cleaning couldn’t be further from your agenda?
Watch others clean their homes:
This might sound a little odd, but have you ever tried watching somebody else clean on YouTube? For some, it gives them the boost they needed, while for others, it might just tire them out! Give it a go and see if it works for you.
Crank up the tunes:
Get your favorite upbeat music on the go, and dance your way around your home, cleaning as you go! This can even count as a workout, meaning that you can skip the gym that day, or have an extra glass of wine to reward yourself!
Get others to help you:
If your home is a multioccupancy one, then enlist the help of the others living with you to help get the place clean. Knowing that you have to face all that cleaning alone can be enough to demotivate you right there and then, but if you’re going to get some help, then the prospect is not quite such a horrid one.
Get the hardest cleaning tasks out of the way first:
Once you’ve completed the most formidable cleaning task on your agenda, you’ll feel as if the rest is peanuts! Get it out of the way first and once you’ve finished congratulating yourself, you can tackle a few other smaller cleaning tasks, if time permits.
Keep your cleaning kit simple:
You only need a few cleaning tools and probably only one cleaning solution to tackle every room in your home, so don’t make things any more complicated than they need to be, by lugging a basket full of cleaning supplies around with you.
Cleaning is not decluttering:
While decluttering is absolutely a good thing to do, it shouldn’t be tackled during a cleaning routine, and should never be confused with cleaning. Cleaning is definitely made easier when there is less clutter, but the process of removing clutter alone, doesn’t help keep your home clean, and can be a huge motivational distraction. Focus on decluttering one day, and cleaning the next, and you’ll find more success.
Some of us may never find the motivation to clean our homes, but that’s okay, that’s why cleaning companies were invented! With many different companies to choose from, and each offering a range of services at affordable prices, you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to finding someone else to clean your home for you. So, what are you waiting for? Don’t waste any more time searching for motivation, simply place a call and schedule a clean.
